Opinion This appeal arises from a complaint filed by appellees, Walter and Elizabeth Messick, alleging that appellants, Commonwealth Equity Services, Inc. (""Commonwealth"") and Michael P. Keating, Sr., fraudulently offered and sold securities. Approximately fifteen months after appellees filed suit, both appellants filed petitions to stay the proceedings and to compel arbitration. Following a hearing, the Circuit Court for Baltimore County issued an order that, among other things, denied appellants' petitions. Appellants noted this appeal from that order. 1 They raise two issues for our review:
